World Exchange Ohio 2024

Welcome the world home, through World Exchange!

The hosting experience is similar to having a family member stay with you.  They don’t need their own room, only their own bed.  You simply include them in your everyday lives.  If you’re headed to the grocery store, take them with you.  Library?  Take them with you.  They are coming for the language immersion experience, so it’s not important to entertain them, per se; simply talk to them.

Most of the teens have at least 2 years of English classes and can get by speaking English.  They are working on fluency.  The teens come fully insured and have their own spending money.  They’re aged 15-18.

Apply for consideration below, through the link with the dates you prefer.

We will come to your home to interview your family to ensure everyone is on-board and see where the student will be sleeping. We will also check two references for you.

Along the way, you’ll get to review dossiers of students based on compatibility and we’ll decide together which student will be a good fit for your family.  If you’ve been a host family previously with World Exchange, the interview isn’t necessary.

While the students are here, there will be two planned activities and a farewell party (all during the week, so you may enjoy the weekends with your teen).

Please reach out if you need more information. Text or call: 614-204-5306

Thank you for your interest.

World Exchange is a non-profit international exchange organization, founded in 1985. Its mission is to foster world peace by bringing together people of different nationalities.

To accomplish its mission…

World Exchange’s international student exchange program brings high school students, mostly from France, to participate in short-term homestays with North American host families.

World Exchange seeks to open people’s minds and hearts and to promote

  • respect and tolerance of all people
  • the acquisition of critical and creative thinking skills
  • the importance of deep listening and conversation
  • the knowledge of love and friendship
  • the awareness that we are all interdependent citizens of the same world
